Hey Howard, I'm the daughter of Samuel Thomas Haynie who moved from the Northern Neck of Virginia to Baltimore to find work just prior to WWII. He spent his time in occupational Japan before returning to his wife Marie Schanken Haynie, his young son Samuel Thomas Haynie III, (Tom) born June, 1942 and his daughter (ME) born February, 1944. Our Haynie family roots are traced to Northumberland County Virginia in 1624 beginning with Capt. John Haynie and his son Bridgar Haynie. My dad's cousin Preston has written a book called "A Haynie Line" about our branch on the huge Haynie Family Tree. Your web site is most enjoyable - it's nice to connect to other Haynie's and finding one with lovely music to share is quite rewarding. My Uncle Howard (Oz) plays mandolin, blues guitar, some bass and piano. Your piano work is what I always aspired to so you are my new inspiration. ha ha rock on and enjoy your life.....Love, Linny Haynie

Hi there, Howard! I'd gone to high school with you in Egypt. You may or may not remember me. I viewed your website and I have to say it is rather impressive. I am the mother of 4 daughters. I teach ESL and GED classes. I have been going to college for the past five years. I took 20 hours last semester as I am ready to get that degree. I hope to become a speech pathologist. I live about 40 miles away from San Antonio. It's beautiful here although the heat is killer. I miss Egypt and I look at the alumni website from time to time. I hope that you are well and staying out of trouble. ha ha. Take Care, Heather

Hey! Nice site. I just surfed in, looking for clues as to my biological Daddy's whereabouts, origins, fate, etc. I was born in Pueblo, Colorado, in 1965. I am most likely a product of a furtive, brief romantic tryst in the back of a 50's vintage Mercury. Anyway, the father was named Marvin Haynie. Mom's not sure about much, but she's sure about at least this detail. Anyhow, thanks for the opportunity to look around your site and have a peak into your life. Vaya Con Dios!
